National Panasonic radio, model R-70S. Ook wel bekend als de Panapet of in het  Engels de “Ball & chain”. Uit 1972-73.  
Typerend voor de Space Age en naar het model van de Spoetnik satelliet. Denk ook  aan de buitenboordvoertuigen (pod) uit ‘2001: A space odyssey’.  Begeleid met advertenties als: Your next radio can really be a ball en Don`t listen to  squares! 

Evenals de Toot-a-Loop werd het design geïntroduceerd in 1969. Geproduceerd als herinnering aan de World Expo in Osaka (1970). 
Toen de radio daar  voor het eerst getoond werd, bleek het een direct succes. 
Het gewaagde futurische en ronde design toonde dat speelsheid en fun belangrijk waren, waar men eerder nog  puur op rationele functionaliteit focuste. Gezien door zeker 64 miljoen bezoekers. 

Met ketting. Speelt op de middengolf, later is ook FM toegevoegd. Type R-70S speelt op  twee AA-batterijen.

Collectors item. Leuke, gewilde radio in uitstekende staat.
