Charity Art Auction (Samen Sterk zonder Stigma)

All proceeds from this auction will go to support Samen Sterk zonder Stigma Research shows that 70% of people with a mental condition experience prejudice or discrimination. 2/3 of these individuals stop with their activities and keep it quiet out of fear of being judged. Stigmatization and self-stigmatization are obstacles to the recovery process, which leads people to avoid the care they need. A lot of people experience the stigmatization harder than the condition they have. It is also referred to as the 'second illness'. Samen Sterk zonder Stigma (Together we are strong without Stigma) strives for a society where psychological problems are not taboo. Together we create awareness of stigmatization and its impact. Giving attention to psychological diversity and to how to deal with these differences leads to mutual understanding. It helps create a society with equal opportunities for everybody.
