Charity Modern Art Auction (‘Hoop’ project for Stichting Semmy)

All proceeds from this auction will go to support the search on brainstem tumor In 2011 several artists donated a painting with the theme ´´hope´´ to the Semmy Foundation. All money raised by selling these paintings will be fully beneficiary to the research against brainstem tumors as performed in VU Medical Center in Amsterdam, and financed by Semmy Foundation. Due to the location of the tumor, in the brain stem, absolutely nothing can be done to date to treat it. That is why Semmy Foundation’s mission is to prolong the life expectation and outcome for kids with a brainstem tumor (brainstem glioma) through scientific research. Every year the Semmy Foundation donates a minimum of € 300,000 for scientific research to VUmc, University Medical Center Amsterdam.
