Arjan de Haan's passion for curio started as an early pastime. At a young age, he started collecting old clay pipes with his father. Eventually, Arjan expanded his own collection to include lighters and other smoking accessories. It wasn’t long before he turned this passion into a business. What started out as a hobby, quickly became his profession as a trader and expert in antique smoking supplies. Throughout the years, Arjan’s collection has grown in size and quality, resulting in regular acquisitions by museums, as well as lending his expertise to the setting up of a museum in Sumatra. Arjan’s experience with curio led him to supporting Catawiki’s pen auctions. As an avid collector, he developed a deep knowledge of luxury fountain pens from brands such as Montblanc, Parker and Pelikan. He now uses his knowledge and experience in leading the Pens category with special auctions which include luxury and historical pens.
