Gustavo has always been passionate about sports. Some of his earliest memories are of watching Ayrton Senna, Brazil’s greatest Formula One racing driver, on Sunday mornings. Followed by listening to the football games on the radio in the afternoon. Mondays were for reading recaps in the papers. Gustavo is not just an armchair athlete, he’s also an avid diver, rock climber, martial artist and runner. Since 1995, collecting football jerseys has been another of Gustavo’s passions and he has amassed an impressive personal collection of 300+ match-worn jerseys, as well as other memorabilia and sports cards, which he has been collecting since 2013. Gustavo’s love of collecting memorabilia is driven by finding pieces that celebrate the history of a player or team and being able to share that with other fans. After a career in entertainment and finance, Gustavo was excited by the prospect of being able to draw upon his years of collecting and network-building to turn his beloved hobby into something he could do full time. He joined Catawiki in 2019 and still can’t believe he gets to spend all day looking at, researching and sharing incredible sports memorabilia.
