Ruth’s love of archaeology started at a young age. As a child, she visited many different museums with her father, where she learnt about the wonders of the ancient world. She studied architecture, gaining a deep knowledge of buildings both modern and historic. During her studies, she immersed herself in learning about ancient cultures. Ruth has travelled to Italy, Greece and Egypt, where she had the chance to see significant archaeological sites first-hand. In 2017, Ruth started working as the Director of the Ifergan Collection Museum in Málaga, Spain. During this time, she worked closely with Vicente Jiménez Ifergan, a renowned ancient art collector. As a Catawiki expert, Ruth enjoys “thinking about the story behind the object, the reason why someone created it, its historic context and how it’s been preserved for so long.” She relishes the chance to work with buyers, sellers and other experts who share her love of archaeology.
