What I enjoy most is seeing the imagination and creativity of jewellery makers – the unspoken balance between material and studied design.

An appreciation of jewellery is threaded into Aitana’s family story and childhood. Together with her parents, collectors of African masks, she’d visit weekly auctions dedicated to African art. There, she fell in love with colourful jewellery pieces — sparking a passion for collecting and accessorising. Her grandmother took notice and encouraged Aitana to collaborate with her private jeweller, giving her a first taste of design and craftsmanship. After years of favouring jewellery as her language for self-expression, Aitana pursued academic training to become a jewellery designer. In her craft, she combines vibrant gemstones and spectacular shapes, rooted in a deep understanding of materials. Each stone requires a different treatment and design to truly come to life. In addition to this hand-on knowledge, Aitana is a certified GIA ‘Applied Jewelry Professional’. Aitana brings a unique insider’s perspective to Catawiki. She has mastered the complete cycle of jewellery: from ideation, to production, to sales and appreciation – giving her an intimate understanding of the needs of buyers, makers and sellers. Find your next conversation piece via Aitana’s vibrant auctions, in Catawiki’s Modern Jewellery category.
