Arjan’s passion for cars started when his father gave him a light blue Volkswagen Beetle as a teenager. He saw its potential and went to work transforming it into something bigger, faster and louder. He sold the car in better condition and used the money to buy—what he considers a real classic car—a 1970 Alfa Romeo Giulia. That was 30 years ago. Since then, Arjan has been passionately restoring and appraising classic Italian cars including Alfa Giulias, Spiders and Gt Juniors. Arjan has an educational background in interior design and is a self-proclaimed ‘mid century design addict.’ But his love of cars led him to work more closely in the automobile industry. As an employee at Denso, one of the biggest automotive suppliers in the world, he organised events in collaboration with the Toyota Racing Formula One team. Arjan joined Catawiki in June 2020 as an expert in classic cars. He has a keen understanding of each car that he appraises and the remarkable story that it tells. He looks forward to sharing those stories with all of us here at Catawiki.
