You can become a professional seller on Catawiki as an individual (sole trader) or as a company (legal entity). If your Catawiki sales are related to your trade, business, craft, or profession, then you’re considered a professional seller.
Learn more about our professional seller policy here.
Create a professional seller account
Select 'Sell’ at the top right corner of our website. From there, select ‘Start selling’ to begin seller registration.
You’ll be asked whether you’re selling objects professionally or privately.
Professional sellers must indicate whether they sell as a legal entity. If you aren’t selling as a legal entity, you’re deemed to sell as sole traders.
- Professional sellers need to provide their:
- Legal entity name (with suffix) or business name (i.e. trading name used to register)
- Displayed seller name – this name will be seen by potential buyers on the seller's public page
- VAT number (if any) (https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/)
- Company or Business registration number (if applicable)
If you do not have a Company or Business registration number, contact our support team for further instructions.
Update to professional seller
Catawiki sellers can update to a professional status.
If you’re already a private seller on Catawiki, we may update you via email if you qualify to sell as a professional based on your volume of generated sales and/or transactions.
If you meet the above criteria, or your circumstances change and your Catawiki sales are related to your trade or business activity, then get in contact with our support team to update to a professional seller.
Before you contact our support team, have the following information ready:
- Legal entity name (with suffix) or business name (i.e. trading name used to register)
- Displayed seller name – this name will be seen by potential buyers on the seller's public page
- VAT number (if any) (https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/)
- Company or Business registration number (if applicable)
Additional obligations
Professional sellers are subject to the EU consumer withdrawal policy.
You also have additional obligations to buyers and Catawiki, which are outlined here.
Once you register as a professional seller, you can not undo this process. Contact our support team if you need further assistance on this point.
