Amsterdam, 10 June - With the second instalment of season three of Netflix’s Bridgerton on the horizon, experts at Catawiki, the leading online marketplace for special objects, share their top tips to bring Bridgerton home.
While the series is set in the Regency era, the interiors of the Bridgerton sets are lavish, featuring rich, deep tones with pastel blues, golden accents, rich fabrics and classical ornaments. Catawiki Antiques Expert Leonne van Bakel explains, “classical inspired interiors in styles like Regency have always been beloved and have never grown out of fashion. Regency-core, a more modern take on this, has become a hugely popular interior trend over the past years as it incorporates all the glamour, considered colour choices and regal patterns of the Regency period with a contemporary twist.”
Following the excitement around the second season of Regency drama Bridgerton on Netflix in March 2022, Catawiki saw a surge of interest in Regency-style interior pieces; the week following the release saw a 60% increase in searches for “Regency” objects. Since the series debut in late 2020, the most popular objects to sell on Catawiki include library stairs, a gilded ceiling lamp and gilded coffee table.

Statement pieces
Bringing in one or two neoclassical statement features such as a guild mirror, Regency-style sofa or a chandelier will give a subtle regency atmosphere.

Luxurious Fabrics
In Bridgerton fabrics play a key role, both in the extravagant costumes as in the lavish interiors. By adding luxurious textiles, like curtains and cushions with intricate designs you can create that opulent feel of luxury.

Opt for Powders
Opting for powder blues or greens are a simple and easy way to recreate the elegance of the Regency era at home. These soft and delicate colours bring a touch of timeless sophistication while maintaining cohesion with other interior styles.
