Who says art is only for the rich? At Catawiki, we organise art auctions every week in all sorts of price ranges and categories, originating from all over the world. This week we have no less than 33 different auctions with over 2000 different works! From the creations of acclaimed painters to upcoming talents, there’s something for everyone. Here’s a selection of the works of art that we have up for auction this week!
Andy Warhol - Dollar Sign (1981)
America’s most infamous artist, Andy Warhol, does not need any kind of introduction. His paintings depicted consumerism and materialism like no other, and this drawing by his hand is no different.
Maurice Utrillo - Paris Capitale (1955)
Paris is beautiful in any season, yet spring is the best time to experience that unique charm that singers expressed so well: "April in Paris, chestnuts in blossom, holiday tables under the trees.." This beautiful set of lithographs of Paris from Maurice Utrillo captures the feeling like no other.
Ineke Kelbling - Dancing Women (2001)
These lovely dancing ladies cheer us up every time we look at them! They come from the hands of Dutch, self-taught sculptor Ineke Kelbling and are part of the modern sculpture auction.
Joan Miró - La Marteau sans Maître (1976)
An outstanding artist like Joan Miró deserves his own auction. So this week, we decided to do just that! Visit the Miró auction here. Our favourite piece is this outstanding print, of which there are only 50 in existence in total.
This is just a broad selection to show the different works we have in our auctions this week, but there’s so much more art to discover! Just take a look at the photography auctions (with auctions dedicated to Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot), the classical art auctions, the modern art auctions or the international street art / urban art auctions!
