The one, the only Volkswagen T1 is making its big comeback. Paying excellent homage to the original that was first released in Germany in 1950, the latest update will be an electric, self-driven version called the ID Buzz.  Mini Bus, Hippy Van or Wagon Mobile, whatever you want to call it, this one is bound to be a hit and a solid automobile investment. The Volkswagen Camper Van is slowly but surely making returning into our lives. The world was devastated when the production of the original camper van came to a halt, which evidently made this style of automobile one of the most sought after in the world. The announcement was made at Pebble Beach this year. CEO of Volkswagen Dr. Herbert Driess revealed that "the Microbus has long been part of the Californian lifestyle. Now we are bringing it back by inventing it as an electric vehicle." Making up part of their new electric car range, the new version will be almost identical to the original style. With eight seats, two luggage compartments, huge side windows and some stunning sun roofs to let the sunshine in all day long, the environmentally friendly vehicle is sure to be the king of all comebacks.

The coolest way of transport for surfers to the beach, carry hippies from fields to festivals and to take the family on camping trips sums up why the original Volkswagen T1 is such an icon and has stood the test of time. Did you know Steve Jobs even had one, but had to sell it to help finance his computer company? They are one of the most sought after car models in the world and the older they get the more valuable they become, which is what makes them a sparkling investment.  Want to know how good of an investment they really are? The Volkswagen T1 Samba made in 1965 is fetching up to €70,000 online and the deluxe version of the same model made in 1967 is currently standing at a whopping €81,000. A recent world record was set in 2014 when a Volkswagen Microbus from 1955 was sold for a staggering €163,000 at auction. Those are high numbers for something made such a long time ago! Why? They represent a lifestyle. The well-made and aesthetically-appealing Volkswagen T1 represents a certain 'joie de vivre'.
