5 Classic Cars That Should Be in Your Dream Garage

When you think of your dream house, does it include a 5-car garage? Let’s imagine that it does... which 5 classic cars would you park in your dream garage? Our in-house classic car experts have a few suggestions...

1. 1968 Jaguar E-type convertible

A Jaguar E-type cannot be missed in your dream garage. With the top down, this is the ultimate summer cruiser. It is fun to drive, very reliable and above all a real eye-catcher. Its combination of beauty, high performance, and competitive pricing established the model as an icon of the motoring world. It says enough that the famous Enzo Ferrari called the E-type ‘the most beautiful car ever made’ on its release in 1961. But which of the 3 versions of the E-type should be in your dream garage? The ultimate version is a Series I convertible with the 4.2 litre straight 6-cylinder engine. This version combines the same beautiful appearance of the first series E-type with increased power and usability.

2. 1987 Ferrari F40

Whether you use the E-type on beautiful road trips through the Alps or the highlands of Scotland, you'll want to have another car for the circuit! The perfect car which combines styling with power is of course the Ferrari F40. Due to the small 2.9L twin-turbo V8 engine with 478 HP, this iconic car sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. If you put the pedal to the metal it won’t stop until it reaches 324 km/h! And for sure you want this one in Ferrari red. The Ferrari F40 is a real collectors item and the perfect car for a day at the track!

3. 1955 Volkswagen T1 Westfalia

From the fun part of the list, we go over to the adventure part. A Volkswagen T1 Westfalia has to be present in your dream garage. With this classic camper van you can go anywhere you want! The ultimate feeling of freedom. This version is based on the Volkswagen T1 Kombi and is fully modified to a camper van by Westfalia. They are very specialised in coach-building and were an official partner of Volkswagen. Approximately 1,000 pieces were produced so that makes it a very rare Volkswagen!

4. 1968 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3

This is an important car to own as well. Every garage should have a Mercedes-Benz S-Class in it because it's such a versatile classic. You can use this car to make a great entrance at parties, weddings and galas, and the great comfort and speed makes it perfect to use it as your daily driver. A Mercedes W109 series 300SEL with a 6.3L V8 will do the job, whatever that job may be.

5. 1961 Mini Cooper S

When you want to go out for some shopping in the city, it's very practical to have a car which you can park anywhere. A Mini Cooper S is perfect for that! It is a quick, cute little car with a cult following. It became an icon of the 1960s in British popular culture. And if you haven't seen one out in the streets before, you probably regognise them from the movie 'The Italian Job and the 'Mr. Bean' series. They are a lot of fun to drive and you can store plenty of shopping bags on the rear seats. It may not be a rare classic, but it's popularity will never die!
