A Rolex Batman watch, recently auctioned on Catawiki
It's not easy to acquire a Batman Rolex. The model is no longer available in stores and the production line wasn't big enough for many watches to end up on the secondhand market. Fans will already know that Rolex is very good at maintaining the value of their watches due to perceived quality, and the named sports models are no exception.
Also sometimes referred to as ‘The Dark Knight’ or ‘Bruiser’, the GMT-Master II Ref. 116710BLNR gets its nickname from the two-tone ceramic bezel. The ‘BL NR’ in the reference number refer to the colour scheme: ‘bleu’ and ‘noir’. The colours black and blue are generally associated with the caped crusader, hence the nickname: ‘Batman’.
Keep an eye out for the 'The Bruiser'.
Upon its release in 2007, it represented a bolder, bulkier styles to meet customer demands and came complete with all the details the wearer could want in a timepiece. Including the Rolex 3186 caliber automatic movement which is a 31 jewel Superlative Chronometer and beats at 28,800 VPH and a 50-hour power reserve.
