In our Expert’s Choice feature, one of our in-house experts shares their favourite items in auction. This week our Asian art & objects expert, Cristina Ortega, selects 5 items from our special JunLing Museum auction (14th - 29th September).
1. Jadeite Pendant (Set: 2 pieces) - Ice Floral Jadeite
This jadeite's texture is delicate and crystal clear. A Qilin (an Asian mythical creature) is carved in the center. Qilin in Chinese culture have an auspicious meaning, which is why this kind of pendant is often considered a lucky charm.
2. Hetian Jade Ore - Green Jade
Hetian Jade only exists in Xinjiang, China, and is ranked first among the four famous Jade categories. It is one of China's important national treasures and it is believed that Hetian Jade can enhance good energy vibes. It is hard to find this size Hetian Jade on the market nowadays.

3. Hetian Jade Bangle - Fine White Jade
This bangle is of the highest quality white jade, which goes by the name of ‘fine white tallow jade’ as it is said that it looks ‘as white and oily as sheep tallow’. White Jade is also at the top rank of the Nephrite.
4. Hetian Jade Tea Set - Green Jade
The teapot is carved out of one piece of jade; no glue was used in any way. The cups are so fine that light can shine through them, showing their clarity and pureness.

5. Hetian Jade Buddha Statue - Green Jade
This statue was handcrafted by old craftsmen in China in the early days. The time it takes to finish an art piece like this is hard to imagine. It shows the gentleness and calmness of the Buddha. Craftsmen with this level of skill are almost extinct today.

About the JunLing Museum
JunLing Museum is a rare, private treasure museum based in Taiwan. It aspires to combine the beauty of traditional Chinese culture with modern art. It is the private collection of Yao-xing Yeh and consists of the treasures he has gathered over the years. In 2016, Mr. Yeh’s daughter Jocelyne decided to fulfill her father’s dream to share his collection with the public and started planning to open up a museum, which became a reality in 2018.
