Steyr M 1886 Kropatschek Bayonet - Made in Austria - Portuguese army

Background information: The gear of the Portuguese army at the early 20th century is based on that of the French. Helmets had the same shape, uniforms the same style, and weapons that already served in France. The Portuguese army was provided with the M1886 Kropatschek rifle, which was also being used by the French navy. Both the rifle and the bayonet were made by the Austrian company Steyr. Austria-Hungary still had good contacts in that period with countries as France and Portugal. In the run-up to WW I, these relations would grow sour. This bayonet was there. The blade has a so-called “Yatagan” shape (the Turkish sword). An elegant appearance. Technical details: Total length: 597 mm Length blade : 470 mm Diameter ball-race: 15.5 mm Will be sent by insured mail and send with Track & Trace.
