Two cast statues of Zamak. The origin is presumably France and probably produced in the first half of the 20th century. By the use of material and of colour the statues appear to be made of bronze.

The statues are placed on a wooden base and are called "Le jour" and "La Nuit". They represent Day and Night. 
The statues are approx. 70 cm high and 30 cm wide at its widest point. Total weight of both: 5.2 kg. 

"La Nuit"
Statue of female figure riding on the back of an eagle.
In one hand she holds the reins with which she guides the eagle and in her other hand a star, the light in the darkness. The wooden base has a crack  as a result of dryness, see photo. The tip of the left wing is damaged, although restored. Have tried to show this in the photograph, however it is hardly visible.

Statue of male figure who rides on the back of an eagle.
In one hand he holds the reins with which he guides the eagle and in his other hand a burning torch, which stands for light and warmth.
