A superior quality statue representing Parvati with a nice age patina on the bronze which only occurs on antique bronze statues. This statue was made with a lost technique with much attention to detail and is in perfect condition with all details of expression of this statue. Total height is 38.5 cm, weight is 3,920 g.

 Parvati is a Hindu goddess. She is the daughter of Himavat. She is also called Uma or Aparna.
Parvati is usually seen as the important assistant, and wife, of Shiva. Shiva and Parvati have two sons, Ganesha and Skanda. The 4 are often depicted on mount Kailash.
Together with Shiva, Parvati symbolizes the power to create and to destroy. Just her presence was enough to unleash uncontrollable desires in Shiva. She is also the symbol for marriage, the obedient wife and life as Ascese. Parvati is also the goddess of beauty and has an especially voluptuous appearance.
