F.E. Roskopf Patent – ‘l'Heure Nationale Belge’ – Men's pocket watch – 1900s.
F.E. Roskopf ‘l'Heure Nationale Belge’ pocket watch (‘montre de poche’, also called ‘gousset’ at the time), with the nine Belgian provinces.
Watch is in almost new condition with no signs of wear. Dial is perfect and has blue numerals on a black and white ground.
Diameter of 55 mm. Roskopf calibre 18632. Pastille certificate of origin still in the lid of the watch, signed F.E. Roskopf.
The watch is working, but I should point out that it loses 15 minutes every 24 hours. Minor servicing definitely needed.
The movement bears the F.E. Roskopf mark and received an award in Paris in 1900.
Beautiful back carved with two lions (and ‘l'union fait la force‘) surrounded by the coats of arms of the nine Belgian provinces.
The inner cover is beautifully tooled as well.
Original winder also bears the F.E. Roskopf name.
Included is a beautiful bi-colour chain of 24 cm with a finely carved large butterfly charm in Belle Époque style.
All parts are the original F.E. Roskopf parts.
Lovely collector's watch from the period known as the Belle Époque.
Carefully packaged and shipped via registered post.
