Hermès – Vintage suitcase – 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré – 1930–1940

Exceptional and extremely rare HERMÈS suitcase (24, Faubourg Saint-Honoré) from the late 1930s It measures 58 cm × 39 cm × 21 cm and weighs 6.7 kg – fairly heavy 100% natural cowhide leather, which has become well-patinated with time, with a strong leather smell, some tiny scratches from wear and flawless hand stitching In good condition, exceptional given its age. This suitcase has no deep scratches, only a patina that has, understandably, developed. The underside is protected by five protective brass feet. They are vertically positioned to ensure that it's insulated from humidity and rough patches on the ground. Sturdy heavy-duty leather handle. It is complete and rugged, supported by two solid brass rings. Brass fastening hardware, in very good condition, but missing the key. Please note that it's made in England, which is very rare. The bag is equipped with the owner's name tag, which matches the G.F. monogram that is hot-stamped on the top of the suitcase. A museum-worthy collector's item. A vintage toiletry bag is also included. A brass suitcase handcuff and its American padlock were in it. I'll leave these objects inside. The lock is automatic. It locks on its own.
