Lion of San Marco, Venice in high relief, Lessinia stone with Royal yellow marble Inlay, probably from early 20th century. The work has been fully worked and carved by hand. It comes from the city of Gorizia, Friuli Venezia Giulia and was placed in the main hall of one of the most important noble palaces. The work is absolutely rare because it represents the Winged Lion in an unusual position, climbing a mountain. Unusual representation, hard to find. In the bottom right of the relief there is the coat of arms that identifies the origin of the Family that resided in the palace in which the Serenissima was exposed. Accuracy, attention to detail and precision are worth highlighting. The anatomy of the lion is carved with much accuracy (nails, muscles, mane and wings). In good condition
Lot even more unique than rare, of great quality of workmanship, refined and elegant, but at the same time powerful and muscular. Prestigious and noble artwork.
In case of shipping, it will be delivered in wooden box, after professional packaging.
