Felix Maurice Charpentier (1858-1924) - Bronze sculpture titled ‘Faune au Lézard’ - France - late 19th century.
A large and heavy bronze sculpture titled ‘’Faun au Lézard’.
The sculpture shows a faun with a foot on a head. The faun is sitting on a pedestal which is surrounded by floral decorations (also visible in the hair). The faun is holding a walking stick behind his back and looks down with a smile.
This sculpture is made with precision and great craftsmanship. This is clearly visible in the details of the sculpture. For example take a good look at the body, face, hands and feet of the faun. Everything is in good proportion to each other and very realistic.
