1988, Italy

Original designer lamp 'ARA' by Philippe Starck, the cornucopia of the light was designed 1988 for the company Flos. The table lamp ARA represents the cornucopia shape usually used by Philippe Starck in his works.
With its conical progressive shape the 'ARA' has the effect like a silvery cornucopia from which the light is pured on the surrounding surface. The table lamp gives a direct focused light. The hard body is chromium plated. The chrome plated cast iron base with a lead weight gives safety.
The switch is the light head itself: The lamp is turned on and off with a tilting movement from up down.
This lamp is nor produced any more and cannot be delivered, therefore very interesting for design lovers.
Height: depending on the direction of the cornucopia approx. 47 cm to 56 cm.
Length of the cornucopia: approx. 26 cm
Diameter of the base: approx. 17.5 cm
Diameter of the lamp: 9.5 cm
Weight: approx. 1860 without the transformer, approx. 2800 g complete with transformer
Manufacturer: Flos
Name Ara
Light distribution with focused spot with 35 W halogen reflector lamp, lamp socket GU4.
Voltage: 230 V
