Interesting facts about the car:
Shortly after taking on this Fulvia saloon, some technical modifications became apparent, pertaining primarily to the brake system. Instead of the Dunlop system, this reconditioned model now has an improved Lancia/Girling-Super duplex braking system, a dual-circuit braking system; the first circuit acts on the rear wheel brake cylinders and two of the four brake cylinders of the front axle; the second circuit acts on the other two cylinders of the front axle. From 1970 onwards, all models of the second series had a five-speed gearbox.
Externally, the modified radiator grille with its black ribs, an updated light bezel, and the oval taillights, were the most striking characteristics of the modified Fulvia. The bumpers were given a rubber lip. A strip was added to the rear doors to aid lowering of the windows.
On the inside, there was a significant redesign of the instrument panel. From then on, round instruments became the norm. The heating / ventilation controls were modified. The seats and upholstery were changed For the rear seats, there were attachment points for the seat belts. Moreover, during the construction of the second series, the ashtrays for the rear passengers was moved from the back of the front seats to the doors.
Production of the saloon was discontinued in October 1972. The hatchback Beta is its successor.
