    Hallo, I'm very sorry that you has been disappointed for the dimensions of tsuba,I tried to describe it better than I could!
    I'm not sure to have understood what is the point(due to absence of transition) but if is the central slot that is too small the reason is that also if it's a large tsuba it was mounted on a wakizashi, you can easily enlarge the slot and mount it on a katana if you want !
