Dance Concert rare Victor Moscoso Janis Joplin 1966 Avalon Poster
Offered here is a concert poster from the early psychedelic days of the Family Dog/ Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco 1966.
This is one of the toughest Avalon posters to find in any condition and i am pleased to offer this example for your consideration.
It was used to promote a series of shows featuring Janis Joplin and the Big Brother and the Holding Company/ Lee Michaels.
Show dates where December 9 & 10/ 1966.
This is unquestionably one of the gems of the psychedelic poster era. It's called "Indian with the Swirling Eyes"
A Masterpiece of Victor Moscoso's work. This design takes a leap forward in the use of colors to convey the psychedelic experience to the viewer.
It is the 38th image in the Family Dog series.
The poster has been very carefully preserved for over forty-five years, and is in Excellent/Flawless condition, and would make a very nice substitute for the much more expensive first print ($750).
Framed it looks like brilliant and mint.
This second print poster was printed on uncoated index stock and measures approximately 14″ x 20″.
