View of the city from the East over the Boomport with Hoge Brug. The apartments of the Zeglis on the left and on the right is a ‘statenjacht’ (national yacht). The most important buildings were named. Above the image are the coat of arms of Alkmaar and West-Friesland.
The mill on the left side of the stronghold along the Baansingel in the in 1713 taken and in 1714 rebuilt corn mill "De Wolf/Molen van Banning" (demolished in 1912), right on the city wall is a ‘runmolen’, which was used to grind oak bark. This ground bark was made into ‘run’ by adding water. This contained tannic acid, used for tanning leather (the mill was demolished in 1808).
The engraving can also be picked up, it is kept in Blaricum.
