This beautiful edition with leather binding consists of an introduction of the translator, Edward Fitzgerald, his fifth version (1859, 65 pages, 101 quatrains) and its first version (19 pages, 75 quatrains). The fifth version includes two quatrains per page; the first version four quatrains per page. This edition contains 9 colour illustrations by George Popoff and eleven illustrations in black and white.
This special edition is number 50 of a total of 50 numbered copies. The top edge of the pages is gilt.

The book is in very good condition. The pages are very slightly discoloured. The pages on which the illustrations of Popoff have been fixed are much darker in colour and slightly printed on the page before and after.
