With signatures of the administration and chancery. Latin text. Papal provision with subject content to be studied. Size: 52 x 39 cm ca. Good condition; some very small holes, one marginally affecting the text (irrelevant). ¶ Pope Innocent XII, in Latin: Innocentius PP. XII, born Antonio Pignatelli (Spinazzola, 13 March 1615 – Rome, 27 September 1700) was the 242nd Pope of the Catholic Church from 1691 until his death. He was one of the last Popes born in southern Italy. A member of a noble family of Naples, Antonio Pignatelli was born (fourth of five children) on 13 March 1615 in Spinazzola, a family feud in the land of Lucania. His father, Francesco, was Marquis of Cerchiara and Marquis of Spinazzola; the mother, Porzia Carafa, was the daughter of Fabrizio Carafa, Duke of Andria. Antonio spent his entire education period in Rome in the Jesuit College, where he took Holy orders, graduating in utroque iure. Later Pope Urban VIII made him a member of the Roman Curia. He was ordained bishop on October 27, 1652 [3]. He carried out his diplomatic career as Apostolic Nuncio. For eleven years (1660 – March 1671) he resided abroad, between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Austrian Empire. He was made a cardinal by Innocent XI on September 1, 1681.

¶ Pope Innocent XII, in Latin:
Innocentius PP. XII, born Antonio Pignatelli (Spinazzola, 13 March 1615 – Rome, 27 September 1700) was the 242nd Pope of the Catholic Church from 1691 until his death.
He was one of the last Popes born in southern Italy.
