Ford - Thunderbird - 1965

Born in 1955, the Ford Thunderbird was initially presented as a two-seater sports car competing with the Chevrolet Corvette. It then evolved into a luxurious and comfortable four-seater coupé (or convertible). This 4th generation produced from 1964 to 1966 has the advantage of maintaining a strong personality before fading out to the next generation. Further, it is equipped with generous mechanics. This vehicle from 1965 is a special Landau version to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the model. It has a beautifully coordinated colour scheme with an Emberglo exterior and a Parchment interior. It is equipped with the standard engine, a V8 390 ci (6.3 litres) with 300 hp. There are only 200 complete copies in the world, of which only four are in Europe. Fully restored with original parts (bodywork, seats, trim ...), this Thunderbird has received a "solvent" paint of Ford origin, its chrome has been renewed and of course, no more corrosion is present on this completely restored body (internal, intermediate and external plates). It has a stainless steel exhaust line. On the the mechanical side, the engine has also undergone a complete overhaul: bearings, bushings, valve lapping, oil pump, internal seals, joint heads, gaskets collectors, Autolite 400 carburettor, transistor ignition, etc ... The suspension has not been forgotten. The brakes have been revised with notably a new master cylinder, four new white sidewall tyres (radial structure) have been fitted And lastly, the air conditioning system is fully operational with a new compressor, dehydrator and radiator. The equipment is of an excellent standard: electric windows and seats, original Ford AM-FM car radio perfectly functional, electric antenna ... All work is attested by a comprehensive file of invoices. This superb Ford Thunderbird has recently been appraised at 22000€ by an independent firm This vehicle can be viewed and retrieved in Chaville, France, not far from Paris.
