|Material:||Wool on cotton|
This is a hand-knotted Gabbeh carpet, made of durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the diversity in patterns make this carpet unique and emphasise its authentic and artisanal character.
Gabbeh rugs are made by nomads in the south-west of Iran. Characteristic are the large sections, often with a few primitive patterns (often animals).
A Gabbeh is a thick rug made of wool on a cotton warp, often with lots of abrash (natural colour variations).
Gabbehs are excellent carpets with high durability.
Gabbehs were also made in India, in which case they're called Indo Gabbeh.
This is a used carpet that has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
Measurements: Approx. 239 x 172 cm.
Main colour: Brick.
Accent colours: Brown/orange and cream.
Special features: Rich abrash (natural colour variations), wonderful shine.
