Master of the Haintz Narr is a woodcutting master active around 1490 in Basel. He created between 15 or 56 of the 158 woodcuts for the ship of fools (Das Narrenschiff ) of Sebastian Brant printed in Basel in 1494. He received his nickname after the woodcut with Haintz-nar in this work.
Besides the woodcuts, , recognized as oeuvres realised by young Albrecht Durer, who in 1494 lived for some months in Basel. The Hanz Narr Meister realized between 15 and 56 woodcuts for the work, depending on the source. He was a woodcutting master active around 1490 in Basel. He created several woodcuts for the ship of fools (Das Narrenschiff ) by Sebastian Brant, first printed in Basel in 1494. He received his nickname after the woodcut with Haintz-nar in this work.
