An absolute cycling legend
Pedro Delgado Robledo (Segovia, 15 April 1960) is a Spanish former professional road bicycle racer. Delgado, nicknamed Périco and El Conquistador (conqueror), turned professional in 1982. He could climb well but was also excellent on the descent and did well in time trials, which made him a suitable stage race cyclist. His first major success was in 1985, when he won the tour of Spain. The following years, he focussed on the Tour de France.
