This is a hand-knotted Kerman rug, made of durable, natural materials. The way it is knotted and the diversity in patterns make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and artisanal character.
Kerman (or Kirman) is located in the south-east of Iran, bordering a desert.
Kerman rugs can be recognised by a centrally placed medallion and a wide border filled with flowers, made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread). The base colour often is red.
A Kerman is an excellent carpet for regular use, with a high durability.
This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
This carpet is highly suitable for a showroom, office space or other large space.
Size: Approx. 368 x 276 cm.
Main colour: Cream.
Shades of brick red, gold beige, green and blue.
Specifications: A lot of nap, wonderful shine.
Signs of wear: Some small stains. This carpet could be cleaned but also can be used as is. Some moth damage (photo 11).
