Sarough (or Saruq) is located in the western part of Iran.
Sarough rugs are made of high-quality wool on a cotton warp.
The wool is known for its shine.
The knotting technique makes for an extra strong carpet.
Sarough carpets are excellent carpets for regular use, with a high durability.
Later on, Sarough carpets were also made in India, these are called oriental rugs.
This is a used carpet, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.
