74 cm high original bronze 'L' Étoile de Berger' by Henri Louis Levasseur (1853-1934).
Ca 20 cm diameter:
Signed on the base: 'Levasseur', a rocaille label stating: "L´etoile du berger par Levasseur, hors de concours".
Chestnut brown patina - uncleaned - (dans son jus).
Please note: The crescent moon and star in the hand are undamaged and in the original condition - it is the star, and the tip of the crescent moon that are often no longer there or they are bent or broken. Good overall original condition - only slightly rubbed with no visible damage or oxidation!
This statue was presented in Parisian sculpture salons shortly before the turn of the century in a non-competitive capacity (hors de concours). In pure bronze, the bronze statue weighs ca. 12.5 kg, - there is no marble base.
The statue is in my holiday home in France - this may result in shipping delays.
