Ceramic Art Nouveau by Galileo Chini
Cup made of majolica terracotta decorated with glossy metallic glaze. Decoration on the inside depicts a boat at sea in the sun. Border decorated with geometric motifs. Small bowl made of salted porcelain decorated with geometric shapes and with gold enamel on the interior. Art Nouveau object from the early 20th century (around 1910), produced by the famous ceramics factory of the artist Galileo Chini based in Mugello (Florence). The provenance and authenticity of the object is certified by the brand under the base (see photos): "Chini e co. Mugello Italia" and the graphic symbol of the factory "grata racchiusa in un cerchio", the number 120 indicates the item model (for the decorated bowl). Brand "Chini e co. Mugello" inscribed on the base (of the salted stoneware bowl). The bowls are in excellent condition as shown in the photos (the signs visible on the decorated bowl are not cracks but signs due to the special gloss treatment it received).
