Fiat - Neckar Mistral 1500 TS Coupe - 1965

This Neckar Mistral 1500 Coupe is an excellent example of Italian and German craftsmanship. The body is designed by Giovanni Michelotti who worked at "Societa Italiana Transformazione Applicazione Automobilistische". Logically, this was abbreviated to SIATA. The chassis comes from a Fiat 1500, but was produced in the German Neckar-Factory in Heilbronn - formerly NSU-Fiat - where, until 1967, Fiats were assembled. The Germans took the freedom to build special varieties based on Fiats, like the Jagst, Adria, etc. This beautiful coupe is also one of them! When you look for narrowed eyes, the front of the car seems a lot like the front of a Ferrari 330 GT. The side has German lines and the rear is somewhat more sober but elegant. Emphasis of the interior is clearly on sportsmanship. A sports steering wheel with 6 different meters behind it! In addition to the common ones, there are also gauges that show the oil pressure and oil temperature. Entry over the sill with stainless steel plate with 'Siata Auto ' inscription is simple and the blood red sports seats immediately sit well. Choke works well and it starts without problems, shifting gears using the small sport lever also works without problems. The car shifts gears smoothly and powerfully through all gears and brakes as it should. The car is anything but impractical. Allows short and precise shifting. Just behind the sport steering wheel a long lever sticks out from the dashboard. It can be operated with a finger, while your hands remain on the wheel. What is the purpose of this lever, you ask? A big horn the Italians like to use to clear the road (a normal car horn is operated by means of push buttons in the spokes of the steering wheel). The car steers very precisely and the handling is pleasantly Italian - communicative, sporty and with a comfortable undertone. Fortunately, the seating position is definitely not as with many Italian cars from the '60s and '70s; spread legs and arms straight. The car was purchased in 2014 from the original French owner who had only driven 48.426 km. It is very unique that a Neckar Mistral 1500 TS Coupe is offered for sale, do not let this opportunity slip and become the new owner of this piece of Italian-German history.
