Statuette - metal casting - France first half of the 20th century
On auction is a wonderful representation of Napoleon Bonaparte. Originally, the figure came from a group that showed Napoleon with a table and a small Lantern. These two parts no longer exist. This object was made after a sample by Emile Carlier (1849-1927), a well-known French sculptor of the 19th century. The object is called "Veille de Bataille". The exhibit was made of a metal cast (possibly brass), partially bronzed - probably in the first half of the last century. On the back of the chair’s left leg the word FRANCE is engraved.
The statue is in good condition considering its age.
Height: 19 cm, weight 1.180 g.
