Approx. 2000, the Netherlands and Italy
Table lamp on a metal base. Lovely shape, resembling a compressed ball or a pebble.
Designed by the Dutch company ILU Design. This lamp is from their Vetro line. Lamps from the Vetro line are all made of glass from Italy. The glass was presumably made by LAM Italy.
This model is called Zebra, obviously because of the beautiful aubergine-black swirl circling the lamp. The swirls were added by hand and therefore vary per lamp: no two lamps are the same! Just like no two zebras have the same stripes. This lamo has a reasonably symmetrical, thick swirl that ends with a small, slipped part. That part looks like the beak of a little bird and unintentionally gives this lamp a very nice effect.
Fits one E14 light bulb. 138 cm cord with click switch.
The glass shade connects to the white-coated metal base and is clamped on with elegant, brass-coloured hand screws.
The lamp is signed by means of a sticker label on the lamp socket and a sticker at the bottom of the foot.
Height: 17 cm
Diameter: 25 cm
Very good to excellent.
On the inner edge, entirely out of sight, a 4 mm chip is missing on the edge because it bumped against one of the screws. Other than that, the glass is entirely pristine. It is a well blown copy, in which we cannot detect natural imperfections, such as bubbles.
There are also no signs of wear in the glass. A beautiful item!
