William Henry Harrison was born in February 1773 in Virginia as the son of a planter family, and entered the army at the age of 18 years, where his task was in the fight against the Indians.
Harrison was an American politician, military leader and the ninth President of the United States of America. President he became at the age of 68 years, so in 1841, and was thus the oldest President at the inauguration until Ronald Reagan in 1981.
Harrison died only 31 days after commencement. This is thus the shortest reigning and he was the first President of the United States who died during his presidency. Harrison's death was triggered by the fact that he held a two-hour speech outdoors at his inauguration. At that time, it was still very cool and he contracted a lung infection, due to which he fell into a coma the next day and died.
