Achille Alberti studied art at the Academy of Brera, where he later taught. Like other fellow students, including Magni and Ripamonti, he realised many sculptures as a decoration for the graves in Milan’s Monumental Cemetery. Initially he focused on social issues, realizing sculptures and monuments which won him international fame,
while he expressed his passion for painting with landscapes, still lifes and portraits. In 1930, in Milan, exposed plaster, marble and bronze sculptures, some thirty canvases, hitherto unknown . He was also a cartoonist for lithographic works.
In 1891 he was awarded two prizes at the Milan Triennale for his bronze sculpture Ignavia, inspired by Dante's themes, which was then exhibited in Vienna in 1894 and is now preserved in Busto Arsizio, at Villa Ottolini. In 1892 his bas-relief Le Odi di Pindaro was exhibited in Munich, while in 1900 he took part to the Universal Exposition in Paris. His work was subject of interest and admiration, leading him to win prizes in all the exhibitions he participated in, both in Italy and Europe.
