AS 15 jewel automatic (bumper) movement, calibre #1250 with anti-shock, calibre #1250; housed in partially chromed case with lock-in case back. New leather strap. Neither box nor papers.
Read before bidding! Do not bid if you expect to buy a watch with the accuracy of a modern quartz movement. You should note that this is a collectors' type watch that is over 70 years old.
As some of you will know, I am a fan of Croton watches. These were very popular in the USA from around Pearl Harbour time (December 1941) until after the Korean War. Their popularity was the fact that they were the most waterproof watches of their era. Croton was very closely "related" to Nivada (Grenchen) and its main object post 1940 was to sell watches to the newly founded military purchase organisation, The Army & Airforce Exchange Services (AAFES) and its US Navy equivalent. They were also popular with US Coast Guard (Maritime Enforcement [ME] ) personnel during the WW2 period.
This black dial Croton Aquamatic is another from my collection and is in well above average condition. Like its first cousins the Buccaneer and Vindicator, it has a sealed or "clam shell" case system created by Schmitz Frères & Co. SA. The bezel and lugs section are fitted on top of the AS 1250 movement [[Google 'AS 1250 ranfft' for more information]] housed in a one piece case. This is locked in place by four locking screws with the glass and new hand-cut waterproof seal acting as a cap. The untouched well patinated dial measures 29.10mms without the original crown and the new leather strap will fit a wrist to 19.50cms. However I would not guarantee that the case is 100% waterproof like any modern Rolex!
I have put a Reserve on this watch to cove the cost of the recent intricate service and parts (70€). As always I urge you to examine the High Definition photos carefully as they form an important part of this rare WW2 era watch's description.
Bid with confidence (see my Feedback!) as you can be assured that the watch will be well wrapped and then shipped to you by Colissimo International Insured & Signed For.

What an incredible watch. A lot of love was put into it, which I already noticed in the description from the seller. And really, this last 30 days it was off 7 seconds in total. For 125 euro!
