Napoléon Victor Jérôme Frédéric Bonaparte (Paris, June 18, 1862 – Brussels, May 3, 1926) was the eldest son of Napoléon Jozef Karel Paul Bonaparte and Maria Clothilde van Savoye, daughter of Victor Emanuel II of Italy. His grandfather Jérôme Bonaparte was the brother of Emperor Napoleon I
In the will of the prince impérial Napoleon Eugène, he was names as his successor as head of the Imperial House of Bonaparte, although Napoleon Jozef Karel Paul was the official successor. In 1884 he declared himself a candidate for the throne. That same year, he ceased to be on friendly terms with his father, whose democratizing views he disapproved of.
Victor was married on November 14, 1910 on the Castle Moncalieri near Turin, Italy, with Princess Clementina of Belgium, daughter of Leopold II and queen Maria Hendrika. This marriage was controversial because the father of the bride did not want to give his blessing. The couple had to wait until the death of the king.
After his father's death in 1891, he was recognized by most Bonaparte family members as family head, although some preferred his younger brother Lodewijk. He died on May 3, 1926 in Brussels.
