A presumably French armchair in the early 18th century Louis XV-/Baroque style. The armchair is very richly decorated with carvings of flower-, leaf-(Acanthus, laurel wreath, etc.) and rocaille-like ornaments. The carving is both polychrome (painted) as well as gilded and has a nice patina and craquelure. The armchair has been upholstered with a pale black fabric, the medallion-shaped backrest is padded.
