Around 1960, J.B. Wolters - Groningen, old linen school poster with the size 108-78 cm including wooden sticks
This is an old school poster for national history with beautiful V.O.C ships. Formerly used at elementary schools, illustrator J.H. Isings, published by J.B. Wolters. Size: 108 - 78 cm
Beautiful poster with a few signs of wear, see pictures.
A summer morning on the river IJ ... A state yacht, that is heading behind the big ship to the ship at the far right, shows in its mirror and in the flags, that it is bringing the high lords of the Amsterdam Chamber of the Dutch East India Company to one of her ships. Under the bowsprit of this yacht and along the large wooden crane, you’ll get to see a view of the city. The Schreiers tower and behind it the old church tower are two important buildings of the "old side” where the city originated. The right foreground of the scene shows the northern bank of the IJ river, shod with poles. On the left side a Durgerdammer is busy bringing in his nets. The large ship, which, after the release of the anchor, is turned by the wind and is drying its sails, which are being pressed by the east wind against the masts and top masts.
The poster will be carefully packaged and shipped by registered mail.
