Good condition for his age, see pictures
Ethiopian Very Old Coptic Antique Geez manuscript leaf.
Archangel with the damned to hell
Fragment of parchment page with handpainted image colour and small golden decorations. Ethiopian liturgical language Ge'ez.
It measures for the leaf 15 cm x 13 cm and between 200 and 300 years old.
This is an extremely rare Islamic Manuscript Icon leaf found in the Ethiopian country. One Leaf, two-sided, in fair condition, slight traces of wear, see the pictures. This leaf is made of goat skin called vellum that has an amazing parchment-like texture. The writing is in black and red paint or ink (red usually being reserved for the names of God, Saints and the Holy Family) made from plant juices and is in Ethiopic (Ge'ez) a language no longer used today except by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church for religious purposes.
