First edition dated 1730. Lawyer at the Parliament, Pierre Restaut (1696-1764) grammarian and teacher got the attention of the students of France when he developed a new method for learning the French language and recorded it in principles that is considered the first manual of French grammar. Pierre Restaut composed and published in 1730 his Principes généraux et raisonnés de la grammaire française. This book was reprinted nine times during the lifetime of the author. XIX +  + 532  pp. + full page frontispiece, 17cm. Good condition, binding a bit rubbed but corners not much affected, the joint of the back cover is cracked on a small part of its height but not detached. 9th edition revised & corrected by the author
