The artwork has most of the original colours!
Wonderful polychrome wooden sculpture depicting the Immaculate Conception, of German school, an expression of the cultured and refined late 18th-century Baroque. The crown, probably not coeval, is made of stucco and gives it a soar and the appearance of a young woman of Regal beauty, but the unknown sculptor wanted to depict her with an expression of infinite sadness, as for presaging the sad fate of the Beloved Son. The hands are in her lap, the blue mantle contrasts with the deep red of the her robe. The work still bears a large portion of the original colours, with some unavoidable losses; the Crown may release and need replacing due to transportation. Dimensions: about 80 cm.
Coming from a private collection over inheritance dispersal, complete with Certification under the article 64 D.L. 22/ January / 2004 n.42 Codice dei Beni Culturali (Italy).

Lovely item and the seller helped sort an issue with the courier that was not his fault. Will definitely buy again from him.
