Lot of three different 'trade beads' including Bohemia, ca. 1850 and phenolic resin, Maghreb.
1/2 length facet glass beads, ca. 1850.
These were made as a copy of the agate version which is very rare.
These were made in Bohemia.
Used as a means of exchange in Africa.
Both beads were collected in Africa in the 1980s / 90s.
Both beads are 12.5 cm in length.
2/ A necklace of glass beads strung on a wire, colour white, origin unknown. 21 beads with an average length of 2.5 cm.
Wire is approx. 80 cm in length, with cord.
3/ A lot of 14 thick beads which were made as a copy of the valuable amber, in phenolic resin.
These were especially sought-after in the Maghreb countries, early 20th century.
Diameter of beads between 2.2 and 2.5 cm.
